In-School Projects are opportunities for 826 New Orleans to work with a class of students to develop pieces of writing over several weeks or months and prepare them for publication. Our staff and volunteers work with classrooms to serve as writing specialists.

Young Authors Book Project
The Young Authors’ Book Project (YABP) is a collaboration between 826 New Orleans and a dedicated high school teacher to produce a professional-quality publication over the course of about six months. Teachers submit book ideas through a Request for Proposal and are selected by 826 New Orleans staff. Students are involved in every step of the process, from writing pieces and serving on an editorial board, to making critical decisions about the design and layout. The project culminates with a big publishing party.
